I want to take this opportunity to tell you all about my first black diamond run that I ever did. I was at Sunshine Village in the Rockies of Alberta, which no matter where I go will always be one of my fave resorts, and while I was on the chairlift to the top it started properly blizzarding.

I was still a little bit tentative on the board, as I had just gotten a new one and was really just getting into it, but the fact was that once I go to the top of the hill it was a complete whiteout, so I had to take the first run to come along, which happened to be a black diamond.  So there I was not able to see a thing, yet surviving (albeit quite slowly) the run. It was amazing having to feel the mountain instead of seeing it, and after that I felt that I could take on the world and it was when I really got into snowboarding. So anyone that is just starting out on the board, and don’t really know how to proceed, the best advice that I could give you is to close your eyes, and just let go. In the end the mountain is bigger so don’t fight it, because it always wins.
